March 2021 Newsletter
We’ve made the most of winter and our beautiful campus by getting outside, sledding, and playing in the snow.
Congratulations to Eva for winning this year’s all-school Spelling Bee, and to Evan who was the runner-up. Eva will represent SGS in the virtual Capital Regional Spelling Bee on March 24.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Students celebrated friendship and Valentine’s Day with crafts, compliments, and treats. Our preschoolers made cards for elderly people in nursing homes delivered through the Tulip Project, founded by our teacher Miss Regan.
100 Days of In-Person Learning!
We returned from winter break and resumed our saliva testing program. To date, we have administered over 600 tests to individuals in our community. We will be celebrating 100 days of in-person instruction on March 10th.
Fifth graders completed their DARE studies with a pizza party and a visit from Eddie and Lock, members of the Colonie Police Department K-9 Unit.
Lenten Season Begins
Father Doyle said our February Mass, which was hosted by the seventh grade. Pre-K celebrated Mardi Gras before Lent began. Our next Mass is on March 5 when second graders and others will receive the Sacrament of First Reconciliation.

Kindergarteners celebrate Chinese New Year…and pajama day!
