It’s the holiday season!
October was a busy month culminating in socially-distanced, mask-wearing parades to celebrate Halloween under COVID-19 conditions.
First Holy Communion
Father Doyle celebrated Mass for our First Holy Communion group of 2020, five months after it was postponed due to the pandemic. The delay did not lessen the importance of this Sacrament and beautiful moment with family.
Fall Fun Day!
Our SGS Parents’ Association treated students to Fall Fun Day with a nature show of reptiles and raptors, lunch from Burger 21, and a visit to the ice cream truck to wrap up the afternoon. It was a day to enjoy friends and back-to-school!
Archaeology Simulation Project!
In Fifth-grade Humanities, students got their hands dirty with an Archaeology Simulation project, which is tied to their exploration of the Ancient Near East.
All around the building are other examples of our students’ creativity and innovation.
Steve Seymour wears many hats at SGS. He is the Assistant Head of School, Athletic Director, and PE instructor. Before joining the faculty at Saint Gregory’s, he coached basketball at Drexel University, Siena College, and the University of Virginia. Coach Seymour recently underwent back surgery. He is recuperating at home, and we wish him a speedy recovery.

You can double – or even triple – your donation to Saint Gregory’s by having your employer match your donation. Thousands of companies offer programs to match their employees’ charitable contributions. Some companies even offer to match their employees’ spouses’ contributions.
Saint Gregory’s benefits greatly when parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends have provided for the School in their wills. Whether one wishes to memorialize a beloved family member, honor a teacher, or establish a named fund that will support a program of particular interest, a bequest can achieve these goals and associate one with the School forever.
The Eighth-Grade Food Drive to help St. John’s/St. Ann’s Outreach Center in Albany begins Monday, November 2. This is a long-standing eighth-grade tradition, and we appreciate your support. Please consider sending in non-perishable items in the next few weeks. There will be a treat for the class that brings in the most pounds!
