Despite her transferring in last year, Mark and Andrea Baker’s daughter Keira is just as much a part of the Saint Gregory’s School community as any other student. Keira is a fourth grader that enjoys playing lacrosse and taking part in the art program. The Baker’s feel so strongly about Saint Gregory’s experience being the best for their child, that Keira commutes to Loudonville everyday from Saratoga Springs.

Hear what Mark and Andrea have to say about why they chose Saint Gregory’s for their daughter:

You live in Saratoga Springs. Is the commute to Loudonville worth it?

Living in Saratoga Springs and having the commute to Loudonville every day and seeing the happiness SGS brings to our daughter is worth it. We have never experienced our daughters excitement for school until we enrolled her at Saint Gregory’s School. The benefits our daughter has gained from SGS outweigh any commute.

What has your child learned at SGS that has impressed you the most?

Since our daughter started at Saint Gregory’s School last year, she’s gained a new found love for reading. We owe that to her third grade teacher, Mrs. Berglund!

What is Keira's favorite part about attending SGS?

Keira’s favorite part of Saint Gregory’s is the small, close-knit community the school has to offer. She enjoys knowing each student from the pre-K level all the way up to 8th grade. She has never been more excited about attending school because of all Saint Gregory’s has to offer academically and as a community

What is your favorite part of the SGS experience/community?

As parents, our favorite part about Saint Gregory’s is that classes are small enough for each child to be nurtured as an individual. The teachers and administrators are truly excellent. We feel that we are a part of a diverse group of families that care about the school and each other.

Would you recommend SGS?

Yes, we would recommend Saint Gregory’s School to anyone who is looking for a nurturing, yet academically challenging, environment for their child.

What advice do you have for parents that are deciding on schools for their children?

Our advice for parents would be to take into consideration that smaller class sizes are vital to a students success. Your child will receive individual attention based on their needs and academic levels. SGS has a rigorous curriculum along with science, Spanish, technology all introduced at the lower school level.
