Highlighting Our Winter Athletes: Celebrating Their Achievements
As winter wraps up, we’re reflecting on an exciting and successful season for Saint Gregory’s athletic programs. Our athletes reached important milestones, celebrated championship victories, and represented SGS with pride and determination. Across both Lower and Upper School, every student showed dedication, growth, and school spirit in every game and practice. It’s been a season full of memorable moments, and we’re proud to celebrate the hard work and achievements of all our winter sports teams.
Volleyball: A Historic First Season
This year marked the inaugural season of volleyball at Saint Gregory’s, and what a debut it was! Under the leadership of Ms. Romaniello, the team brought energy, determination, and enthusiasm to every match, quickly showing why volleyball is such a welcome and exciting addition to our athletics program. From their first serve to their last point, the team impressed with strong teamwork and commitment.

Lower School Basketball: Building the Future
This winter, Saint Gregory’s provided an exciting opportunity for Lower School students to develop their basketball skills and build a love for the game. With over 30 young athletes participating, the program, led by Coach Tay Fisher, focused on teaching fundamentals, fostering teamwork, and building confidence on the court. The enthusiasm and effort shown by our youngest students-athletes were outstanding, and it was a joy to watch their growth throughout the practice sessions. We’re excited to see how they continue to develop in the years ahead as part of SGS athletics.

Girls’ Basketball: Growth and Grit
The SGS girls’ basketball team had a season full of growth, perseverance, and improvement. With every game, they showcased grit, teamwork, and determination, becoming stronger as individuals and as a unit. Their efforts on both ends of the court did not go unnoticed, and they made great strides from the season’s start to finish. A special thank you goes to Coach Kubikian for his unwavering support, guidance, and dedication to helping the team reach their full potential.

Boys’ Basketball: A Standout Season
The SGS boys’ basketball team capped off a strong season in the most exciting way possible — with a CYO Championship win! Their journey to the title was marked by hard work, discipline, and a true commitment to team success. Game after game, they delivered standout performances, and their determination paid off in the final game. Congratulations to the players and a heartfelt thank you to Coach O’Leary for his leadership and the countless hours he dedicated to supporting the team.
