From Siena to Saint Gregory’s: How The Haddix Family Chose SGS for their Children’s Early Education

The Haddix Family poses for a 1st Day Photo outside the Lower School Entrance.

When the Haddix family first moved to the Capital Region to build their home in Saratoga Springs, they were focused on settling near family and putting down roots. The young parents Michael & Erica had met at Siena College, so the Loudonville area felt natural as they enrolled their children at Saint Gregory’s for Preschool.

While their Saratoga home was under construction, the family lived temporarily in Clifton Park, and their son Trey began at Saint Gregory’s. What started as a practical preschool decision quickly became something more. They fell in love with the school and the sense of connection they found there.

Over time, the Haddix family built meaningful relationships with fellow families, teachers, and school leaders. When their Saratoga home was completed, they made an unexpected choice. Instead of moving in, they put the house on the market and relocated to Loudonville to be closer to campus and more immersed in the daily life of the SGS community. What they first imagined as a short-term plan through the Pre-K years gradually became a deeper commitment to a school, a community, and their children’s early education.

What stands out the most about Saint Gregory’s isn’t just the education our children receive. It’s the sense of connection, shared values, and support that extends beyond the school’s campus. We look forward to seeing our children continue to grow at SGS.

Michael Haddix | Loudonville, NY

In 2024, Michael chose to give back by joining the school’s Board and helping ensure future families experience the same sense of belonging his family found at SGS. The Haddixes’ story reflects what many families discover here: a school committed to helping students “Learn, Grow, and Achieve” since 1962.

We welcome anyone who wants to learn, grow and achieve at SGS. Apply to Saint Gregory’s today.
