Alex Watson Shares Her Saint Gregory's Story on News10's Upstate Living blog featured image

We are honored to share that Saint Gregory’s School was recently featured on News10’s Upstate Living through the experience of SGS parent Alex Watson.

During the interview, Alex spoke about why she and her husband chose Saint Gregory’s for their family and reflected on the growth they have seen in their three daughters since joining our school community.

Finding the Right School

After welcoming her oldest daughter, Madeleine, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Alex and her husband began searching for a faith-based early childhood program.

Their search led them to Saint Gregory’s School, where Madeleine first enrolled in the Pre-K2 Program, attending just a few half days each week. As their family grew and Alex became pregnant with twins Jenna and Juliet, they decided to enroll Madeleine full time.

Alex shared how much her daughter thrived during that transition.

While the school’s curriculum initially stood out, she explained that it was the sense of community that ultimately made Saint Gregory’s feel like home.

“I think what really sold both my Husband & I was just the sense of community… the students and the teachers felt like they were part of something bigger than just their school.”

Watching Confidence Grow

As Madeleine continued through the early childhood program, Alex watched her confidence flourish. From field trips and learning to count in Spanish to writing her name and developing new creative skills, each year brought exciting growth.

One of Madeleine’s favorite memories was being chosen to portray Mary in the school’s Christmas Nativity, an experience Alex says reflected just how much her daughter had grown in confidence.

“To just see her confidence and growth in just a few short years has been really amazing. Absolutely, absolutely amazing.”

A Family Growing with SGS

Today, Madeleine is preparing to enter first grade at Saint Gregory’s School. Her younger sisters, Jenna and Juliet will continue their journey as they move into Pre-K3.

We are grateful to Alex for sharing her family’s story and for highlighting the caring community, strong academics, and nurturing environment that make Saint Gregory’s such a special place for so many families.

Thank you, Alex, for your kind words and for being such a valued member of the SGS community. Watch the full video below.
