Saint Gregory's School Building in Loudonville, NY

In recent years, Saint Gregory’s School has undergone a transformative period, and we are thrilled to maintain an ongoing record of the exciting updates to our campus. Our commitment to reimagining and enhancing our physical footprint has resulted in a series of infrastructural improvements, all made possible through the unwavering support of our community. From the Board of Trustees and administration to our dedicated faculty, the annual Gala, and especially our generous donor families, we have ushered in a new era for SGS. Let’s explore the remarkable changes that are setting the stage for an even brighter future, ensuring our students continue to receive the elite education SGS has been known for during these last 60 years.

Our Recent Improvements

At SGS, we believe in providing the best environment for our students to learn, grow, and achieve. Here are some of the incredible renovations that have been made:

2025

The summer of 2025 brought full renovations to both the Lower School Science Room and the Art Room. Each space received new ceilings, lighting, furniture, cabinetry, and an interactive whiteboard TV. These updates maximize classroom functionality and elevate the student learning experience. The science room is now better equipped for hands-on discovery, while the art room — renovated with support from the 2025 Gala in honor of the Shepard family — will inspire creativity for years to come.

2024

Thanks to the generous contributions of the classes of 2023 and 2024, we introduced a new digital sign at the entrance of our school to keep our community informed and engaged with the latest news and events. Additionally, the SGS stage has been expanded, and improvements to lighting and sound have been made, providing our students with a larger platform to showcase their talents and support our growing performing arts program. Furthermore, the Upper School corridor is undergoing a major transformation, featuring new lighting, ceilings, flooring, and lockers, thanks to the initiative and support of Sean and Michele Doolan.

2023

In 2023, we ensured a comfortable learning environment by installing air conditioning in most classrooms. Our Lower School classrooms were modernized with new touchscreen interactive televisions and flexible furniture. The new Joanne S. McLeod Lower School, made possible thanks to the vision of Kenneth Ellis (SGS ’78), and the state-of-the-art Raymond Family Technology Suite now offer enhanced learning environments for our students. The SGS garden was expanded by Mr. Bond for hands-on learning about nature and sustainability, and a new swing set, donated by the Class of 2020, was installed for our youngest students.

2022

In 2022, we opened the Uccellini Family Science Center, a dedicated classroom space for scientific exploration. We also added a new outdoor basketball court for sports and recreational activities as well as a new paved access road, both generously donated by the DelSignore family.

2021

Started in 2021 and completed by 2023 was the installation of new windows throughout the building, providing better insulation and energy efficiency. Also in 2021, we modernized our Latin and math classrooms, creating enhanced spaces for academic excellence.

2020

In 2020, we promoted health and hygiene with the installation of touchless water fountains throughout the building. Additionally, our PreK-4 classroom was renovated to create a more engaging learning environment.

2019

In 2019, we improved the space for some of our youngest learners by renovating the PreK-3 classroom, setting the foundation for their educational journey at SGS. This project was made possible by Joy and Greg Teal.

These incredible enhancements are a testament to the power of our community. The vision and leadership of our Board of Trustees, the dedication of our administration and faculty, and the generous contributions from our donors have all played crucial roles. Each gift, big or small, has directly contributed to these projects, showcasing the collective strength and commitment of the SGS family.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate these achievements, we also look forward to the future with optimism. The improvements made today lay a strong foundation for the continued success of our students, preparing them for high school, college, and their future careers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to these advancements. Your generosity has not only transformed our campus but also enriched the lives of our students.

Here’s to a bright and promising future for SGS, where every student can reach their full potential in an inspiring and supportive environment. Thank you for being a part of our journey. We encourage you to continue supporting our efforts through future donations, as your contributions have a profound impact on our community.
